JOIN THE CFCA SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE

The Calgary Finlandia Cultural Association’s NEW Special Events Committee is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help plan and execute CFCA events. We are looking for individuals with a passion for Finnish language and culture and a desire to contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of our organization. This committee will work collaboratively with the CFCA Board of Directors to create memorable experiences and foster a sense of community through special events. The Special Events Committee is responsible for planning and executing a variety of events such as Vappu, Juhannus and Pikkujoulut, culinary workshops, special events and some community outreach programs. This committee will work collaboratively to secure venues, manage budgets, and coordinate logistics, ensuring each event is a success. By organizing these events, we aim to strengthen community ties, raise awareness for our organization, and generate revenue for our programs when necessary.

Event planning experience is an asset but not a requirement. Completion of the FREE online AHS Food Safety Basics for Special Events certificate course is an asset. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to help support the Calgary Finlandia Cultural Association’s mission of promoting Finnish language and culture in Alberta, Canada.
